How many barbs do you have? If you have plants, driftwood and rocks etc to provide cover and algae for the otos, there shouldn't be a problem.

Otos require a well established tank with excellent and stable water conditions to thrive.

Would there be any other fish with them? You'd want a school of 6 tiger barbs and at least 3 otos, but I think you could get 4 in that tank.

Tiger barbs can be extremely dangerous, they will attack any weaker fish they can find and continue to nip their fins until they r dead; be careful with that species.

i have ottos with tiger barbs and they do just fine. you really need to provide lots of hiding places though because the tiger barbs are very aggressive. when my ottos swim around the TB's go after them but the ottos get away pretty fast and the TB's don't even get a chance to nip on them. they blend easily on the decorations i have so the TB's don't even know where they go.
