With a 1 gallon tank there isn't much to choose from. W/ fish you have a one inch of adult fish per gallon rule. So I seriously do not know of any fish for that tank. Maybe some fw shrimp?

I agree...1 gallon is really not adequate for any fish that I can think of. Maybe an African Dwarf Frog, or a shrimp of some kind.

Welcome to Fishlore. Unfortunately, a tank that size could only support some small shrimp and a little sponge filter.

The problem would be the lack of a heater or filter. Fry are very sensitive to water conditions, so they could only be in that size tank for a matter of hours. A hospital tank would need a heater and filter maybe even more than a regular tank since you'd have sick fish and they'd need really steady water conditions.

Agree with everyone that there's very few things that can live in one gallon of water, except maybe a few shrimp. But 1 gal is very hard to keep a stable temperature and water conditions.

Even the African dwarf frog needs at least 2.5 gals.

I used a 1g tank for a guppy fry tank, however I had a small filter in it (one of those green filters w/ a air pump. Also I had a bright bright light that heated the water. The water stayed a constant 76-77 degrees (I watched it closely).. it was very hard to maintain
I wouldn't even consider it for a sick tank.
Yea, the african dwarf frogs need a bigger home, I wouldn even go as far as saying 5g for them... and I had them in a 5g when moved my frogs from their 5g to my 10g they were a thousand times happier... so a 1g would be misery for one. and I think they do better w/ a friend.
