I disagree. Posting non-beginner questions in the "beginner" section merely mucks things up and makes it more difficult to find specific beginner information. Most people who are going through for the purpose of responding to posts don't go in through the sub-sections. They check the "New Posts" button on the top of every page of the forum and scroll down. I often post questions in pretty obscure areas of the forum and get responses. However, if a post is made in the wrong place, you could very well miss the few "specialists" in a given area if they aren't checking the "New Posts".
To get an idea of why so many sub-forums are necessary, spend 24 hours away from the forum, then click the "New Posts" button and count all of the new posts that were made over the past day. We have dozens of new threads started every day, and if they weren't sorted in some manner, scanning them would become difficult.
Unsure of which post Morph is referring to. The one in the Puffer section is a lively, active thread, and there are several very recent discussions in that section.
Anyway, this isn't a matter of punishment or control, it's a matter of keeping the forum tidy. A question regarding the specifics of feeding koi doesn't belong in the beginner section. It's not a beginner question. On the other hand, a question of "how often should you feed your fish" would be an excellent question for the beginner section.
