test strips are never accurate so there is probably more ammonia than you think-- i'm sure he has ammonia poisoning. you are going to have to do water changes if you want to save him-- at leat 25% per day, but that will slow down your cycle... so your choices are a sick or dead fish and faster cycle, or a better fish and slow cycle. it's why most people would reccomend a fishless cycle.

also, you really should get an api master test kit, it's much better.

Until you get your ammonia levels down, your fish are going feel the effects of the ammonia.
Keep up with the water changes, do more than 1 day if you have to.

These fish are in your larger tank? I thought you had moved your filter media and decorations. Is it possible that the water you took from the 10g had ammonia in it?

I'd recommend using Prime to treat your tap water and changing 25% of the water every day or 2 to help your fish make it through the cycle.

you really shouldn't tap the glass either - it scares the fish, you need less stress, not more.
