Fish 'bouncing' around?
Since the tank change, my yoyos have been acting nuttier than usual. They tend to 'bounce' the sides of their bodies off the gravel when their swimming around causing a bunch of commotion. The corys take it pretty well in stride, they consider themselves part yoyo too, always chasing and being chased with the yoyo pack. The bouncing thing is new though and can't figure out why it could be happening. I've read around various sites and I haven't been able to figure anything out. They swim around just fine, when they want to - it just seems they want to bounce and swim a lot more, lol.

does it look almost like they're itchy and trying to scratch? sometimes glancing off objects or gravel can indicate disease... watch them closely.

I don't know? It doesn't seem like anything is different about them. They all 3 are doing it and it's just the yoyos. None of the other fish have done anything like this. If it is the beginning stages of something, is there anything that I should be looking for/noticing with them while doing this 'bouncing' behavior? I honestly thought they were just playing around.

well, the glancing would likely get progressively worse, and could or could not move on to affect other fish... i've seen it a couple times, and they've otherwise seemed normal, for awhile... but eventually you can tell that somethings wrong, with lethargy, (interrupted my more of the glancing off objects), or sometimes barrel rolls or other weird swimming behaviors... there was another thread about this - it was in general discussion, but it's probably been moved to diseases by now. anyway, i'm not saying your fish are sick, i'm only saying keep an eye on it, 'cause it could be an early warning sign... or it could just be them bein' goofy.

Check your water for Nitrites and Nitrates. If either get high Loaches tend to do that, it's called flashing. If you have any Nitrites and Nitrates over 20 do an extra water change and they should stop if this is the problem or as you say they may just be being nutty

Nitrates are at 5ppm ammonia 0ppm and nitrites are 0ppm as well. I just did a WC change this morning, but they were doing it prior to this.. and are still doing it. I'm hoping they are just acting goofy as only yoyos can do, but I will definitely keep an I on them.
Thanks again.

Hmm.. could they be trying to move gravel around when doing the bouncing? I'm at a total loss.. lol. They bounce a few times on both sides, then go darting after each other, or they'll bounce a few times in one spot then go top to bottom and start drilling around moving the gravel.
It's hilarious, but I'd hate to be missing a sickness sign. Being paranoid I guess. Anyhow, they're having a fight with the corys atm over some algae wafers and the clown pleco just came out and started hovering over it, flaring up telling everyone to screw off for the night and let him eat.
3 julii cats and 3 yoyo loaches are circling above him for 5 minutes now waiting for him to move!!

SereneReyn is right. I had a YoYo and he started doing this. It looked funny, but then he started the barrel roll stuff, then went to banging into the wall, lethargy, banging into the wall, lethargy...all my levels were fine,,, still don't know what was up, he didn't make it,,, but none of the other fish seemed to be affected.
