Fancy guppies missing tails - yoyos or corys to blame?
After adding Bio-Spira today, I picked up 3 yoyos and 3 corys from my new preferred LFS. It's been a couple hours now, and I've just noticed the 2 male guppies are missing portions of their rear fin; of of the females looks like she has some nips in it. They have been just great until now. Wife and I were eating dinner, and I came back to check on them and found the guppies in that situation.
On a side note, one of the female guppies is having fry right now - not sure which one, and completely unexpected - we just got them a week ago I think.
I was going to take the guppies out and put them in my daughters 10 gallin, but I was afraid the glofish (danios) might continue to nip them as well.
I'm assuming the yoyos are the most likely culprit? I just saw on loaches.com that fantailed fish or long finned fish aren't ideal to keep with them? That seemed to be contrary to what had been suggested on the forums. Either way it's not a huge deal. Planning on going out this weekend to pick up 2-5gallon to house the fry and fashion a short term QT tank until we get another bigger tank.
