Color Change?

I have had a marble angel fish for about a month, and when I bought him he was only black and white. Now, the angel has bands of canary yellow coloration on the top of his head and on the translucent parts of all of his fins. The fish is not sickly at all, he is a voracious eater and strong swimmer. Is this bright yellow color change a disease, or simply a natural phenomenon?

OH, I would say it is very good! Usually as fish color UP that is good, (except red blood streaks)

A washed out color would be bad, or at least show they are reacting to some condition in the tank, as neons do when the lights go off.

When I brought home my marble angelfish 7 months ago, it was also black and white. Later as it matured I noticed a new color showing up, also on the top of its head. It now has orange, black and white. Its my halloween angelfish! lol..
Its normal and I see a lot of the marble black and whites with that coloring when they mature. Its all good!

i dont know much about angels but id have to agree that its a good thing. generally fish change as they grow (atleast all mine do) so colors may differ.

when u think of a clown fish it makes more sense. all clowns start life without stripes but the older they get the more their stripes develop..so i assume that it applies to other fish as well.. do beware of some coloring tho

read up on fish illnesses and what not just to be in the loop so if u see a change u know if its aging or a potenial problem

just read your aquarium info... do you plan on upgrading on that 12g nano? Your angel will eventually need more room than that.

The CAE will too, but they can get pretty mean and I think in a tank that size, he'll kill the other fish before too long. I'd recommend a new home for him as well.

Ironically, today while I was at my LFS (returning the CAE) they had a special on 30 gallon deluxe nano cube tanks (only 300 dollars!), and being the impulsive buyer I am, I bought one. Would 30 gallons be ideal for the angel?

30g is good for an Angel. It's the minimum that I'd put one in.
