Personally, I wouldn't put two kinds of cichlids in there although I'm sure many people do it successfully.
If you want a peaceful and pretty schooling fish, you might want to look at Harlequin Rasboras!

IF you want tetras, Bleeding Hearts get quite large, are very beautiful and quite peaceful, for tetras.

How big are they? If they're the tiny, silver dollar-sized babies, they are difficult to keep alive. Discus need a very well-established and stable tank, with soft acid water that must be kept super clean.
