No tropical fish with goldfish. Goldfish can barely go with other goldfish, because of tank size requirements.

goldfish go with goldfish. period. goldfish are coldwater fish therefore have different requirements in their tank than tropical fish which like warm water.... so dont mix em!

I think White Cloud Minnows like the temp. range that Goldies are happy at, if you have room for them. You'll want 20g for the first Goldfish and 10g for each additional one then 2g for each minnow and they're happier when in a group of 6 or more.

Can't mollies alos stand cooler water, or is it not cold enough?

I think Goldies like it a bit cooler than mollies. Mollies would run a lot of risk of ich at the lower temps.

Yea, I'd keep livebearers at 76 minimum, but goldies probably 68-70 tops.

hmm.
We had a pond book that said that they can handle lower 70s and higher 60s quite well.
Guess that that is wrong.

Stronger ones could tolerate it for a time, but would be out of their comfort zone and at high risk for ick and other disease. I think wild ones might, but pet store ones would be dead pretty quick.

white cloud minnows are easily eaten... as are zebra danios (i know from experience)... goldfish can get huge. simple logic.. bigger fish eat small fish. checkmate.

I guess it would depend on what type of goldfish you are keeping.

Ideally, I'd keep goldies in a goldies-only tank. The minnows do tolerate the temp, but do stand a good chance of getting eaten.
