Hi!
Wait, what kind of hatchet? They get different sizes - Common is 1.5in, Marbled is more like 2-2.5 or I even heard 3 in some places inches long.

You still have those 3 gallons so if they turn out to be bigger than I measured for ( I measured 2.5) so your covered!
Hamsters YEAH!! I always wanted one but mom says they look to much like mice.

Yeah, I wanted a Dumbo Rat, yes thats what they're called, but my mom said she couldn't take the tails, and that they must bite, hard. So I got Star, my female short haired, panda coloration-ish. She bit me though and it hurt! And the fact that she ran around my room for like half an hour well I was trying to catch her..... And she kept me up all night when I had to get up early, she ran on her wheel, and climbed the back bars of the cage to get to her food, rather then climbing the hamster maze to get to it. Lol, but she's awsome, either way. My cats don't like her though, lol.

Hi!
You'll have 24 inches in there then! Common (Silver) hatchets only get 1.5in long you see. You could up the school of hatchets to 10 - that's what I'd do!

Hi!
Well, most of the time they're stationary - but sometimes my 'rebel' (I have a hatchet who likes to do things his own way - swimming in the mid level etc..) disturbes them and they start to play. Great fish to have!

I like how they swim, as of how they look when they swim. Like how they look upside down/ish.

Hi!
LiveAquaria is confused with their hatchets. They get 1.5" long. Marbled hatchets have been rumoured to get 3". If you looked carefully, they class the Silver hatchet as 'difficult'. This is not true - they are easy, but difficult without a school. Marbld hatchets can be classed as 'Moderate-asy', as they can jump up to 2 metres in the air when stressed (5 metres is the record! You have to really keep an eye out when doing water changes with Marbleds. Silvers don't do it though.) and are prone to whitespot.
