Mysterious eggs

I have only yesterday added a BN Pleco to my tank so it can't be her, today I added 6 cardinals, can't be them. So, what has laid these 6 batches of eggs in a crescent shape? (see pic). I know I inherited a snail from somewhere, maybe plants or substrate. Any ideas and if snails, do I get rid?

Hi!

I have noticed similar 'eggs' on my 47gal community. I also have a snail or two in there. Loaches eat snails - however - your gravel is far to sharp to keep Loaches on. I'd also be careful - your BN could injure itself on that gravel.

Those are definately pond snail eggs. The best thing to do is to get the eggs out now ( using a turkey baster or something else of the sort is easiest) and then if you ever see a snail take it out of our aquarium and get rid of it.

The gravel isn't sharp, it is actually substrate and is very light. I have a layer of gravel on top of the substrate but on the pic it is exposed.
I got the eggs out with a syringe and length of tube, it works great.

Definitely clear the eggs off and check around the tank for any signs of other eggs. I tend to get rid of them by hand if I can. If the tank can support the bioload, loaches are great for eating them up. Dwarf Puffers love them, but aren't really community fish.
