Outside with clear scotch tape works well. Two sided tape is better tho.

Hi!

I use sellatape. What colour backgroud are you getting? I find all black is very effective.

Here's a little trick I learned. Many times, if you have a printed background and you just tape it to the back of the glass, it will appear very dark. Lay your background out on a table with the side you wish to view face up and wipe it down with a wet sponge. Then "stick" it to the back of your tank. The water will create a suction effect, almost gluing the background to the glass.

Tape one side of the background to the glass and then grab a credit/debit card or something similar and work out the air bubbles, working from the side that is taped down toward the side that is not. When you get to the other side, and you have all the air bubbles out, tape the other side down and your background will be very clear and bright through the aquarium glass.

I've found the hardest part of putting a background on our tank is simply remembering to do it BEFORE you have the tank filled, LOL

Hi!

That's a nice technique. Over time though - won't the water dry out and create that stuff you gt on the front panel sometimes?

I had it up for six months and never had a problem. After working out the bubbles, the amount of water left behind is neglegable. It's all suction, by sliding all the bubbles and water out, you create a vacuum or something like that.

Anyway, I never had any probs with it. My brother in law actually used the same technique but with petrolium jelly instead of water, but that sounded entirely too messy to me. Plus, I'm not sure if that could actually mess up your fish from the stuff in Vasoline leeching thru the glass. IMO, natural = better

Hi!

Oh right! I'll have to remember that for my next tank.
