Wood

I just bought a piece of wood for my aquarium. I have been brushing it forever, and there is still dirt coming out in the bathtub. Someone told me to pour boiling water on it. would this help? should i just continue scrubbing? are there any other techniques?
thanks for your help!

boiling it in water is always a good idea, I was also told to bake it at 400 to dry it out once done with the soaking.

driftwood will forever tear away at itself, you sure your not scrubbing to hard? IMO you should continue to let it soak, then cook it, then try wetting it again and seeing if it's still dirty.

thanks for your help !
It is a bit too big to fit in the oven... I have been pouring boiling water on it for the moment... otherwise when left in clean water it does not dirty it...it's just when i srub it. DO you think it would be okay to put it in the aquarium now?
( i am new at all of this...thank you very much for your help! )

Do you have a big cooler that you can let it just soak in for a couple of days?

Welcome to FishLore!

From what I hear of driftwood, I would recommend boiling it then soaking it for a few days to a week.
