Probably fish around 2" (adult size) so that you can have a small school of them. Livebearers or Tetras woulc be what you're looking for.

A small school of danios such as zebras or a small school of tetras such as glowlights, neons or head and tail lights.

A few Otos would fit in the tank, but lower the number of other fish that could go in.

10G is 10G no matter which way you slice it, the standard 10G is 20" long i beleive, the rule of thumb is still the same, 1" of adult fish per gallon of water

ok, but I might go and buy a 20 gallon tank so its bigger, and it can hold more fish.

Guppies! They are wonderful fish. Very hardy and VERY BEAUTIFUL! Except for the females, that is. Their tails are extremely colorful. Good for beginners. You can have a guppy tank. The only problem with them is that they keep on breeding and breeding! You will very often have baby guppies if you have 2 sexes. If you are planning to breed them, keep more females than males because the males will harass the females. Or, you can only put males.
Oh, and you are right on getting a 20 gallon tank. It will make things much easier, because tank sizes less than 20 gallon are very difficult to maintain and only for professionals. Beginners must have at least 20 gallons to make things go smoothly. If you do have the 20 gallon tank, you can still use the 10-gallon tank as a quarantine tank(for sick fish or newcomers) or fry tank.
Good luck!

I went to Wal-Mart with my mom, I bought a 14 gallon tank, AquaCulture brand, the same brand as my 16 gallon tank at my dads house, but I won't make the same mistake that I did at my dads house, I didn't know about cycling, my pleco and one of my tiger barbs died, I'm going to let it cycle for about a week, and then I'm going to get fish. I think either I will use the 10 gallon tank as a backup, or give it to my sister as a house warming presant, she wants a fish tank since Christmas when I hooked up my 16 gallon one. Any ideas on fish for a 14 gallon tank?

Hmm.. you could look at a couple knife fish or a school of livebearers or tetras 2.5" or less.. maybe some killifish?

Cool! I think I have my list, 2 khuli loaches, 3 guppies, and maybe 2 ghost shrimp, If you know anything about them please tell me, also will they eat the ghost shrimp? And can I have a Kili Fish with those fish?

The tank wouldn't have room for Killifish with those other fish. Although Killifish are such beautiful fish, a tank full of them wouldn't be a bad thing.

Ok,maybe when I get a bigger tank. So, are Mollies and Guppies about the same size because I was thinking of replacing the 3 guppies on my list for mollies, if they were about the same size.

Mollies are much bigger than gups.. between 2 & 3 times bigger.
