I'm new at this and i have a question. can you put zebra danios and cherry barbs with fancy guppies?

P.S
The barbs and danios are very peacefull and i think they won't be fin nippers.

Sounds like a great visual combo too. how big of a tank do you have for them? how many of each will you be wanting? i think the danios are best in groups of 6 or more and the barbs 3 or more so a 20g would be a good fit.

Also i have a 12 gallon tank and plan on having 3 danios plus 2 glofish, 4 cherry barbs and 2 male guppies.

Is the 12 gallon aquarium hexagonal or a rectangle?

Check the profiles on the fish that you want here: http://www.fishlore.com/TropicalFishProfiles.htm.. this way you can see what kind of behavior they'll have, how big their adult size is (so you can stick with the 1 gallon per adult inch guideline) and how big a school a fish would be happy in.

Hi bo sox, welcome to fishlore, well, please do not keep barbs with goldfish, no matter how big your tank is, barbs will eventually harass your gold fish. as BettaCouple said u have to keep 6 barbs together as they r schooling fish, same rule for the danios and tetras too. BTW, goldfish may also eat your guppies.

MY CHERRY BARBS KILLED MY FANCY GUPPIES!!!!! They are supposed to be peaceful but they shredded my Guppies tails over night and one female went to town on their bodies as i tried to save them.

I love my barbs but they are not docile. I would say think twice or at least keep a close eye on them, as Zebra danios can fin nip too!

If you keep them in a school of them they usually don't have problems.

glofish are zebra danios that are green, red, or yellow and they glow in the color that they are.

Oh, those. I saw them at Petco. They look awesome but do they actually glow?

FLBettaC 40 ltr tank, well planted 7 Cherry Barbs 2 Guppies.....all babies at that time! Big Bertha, the female Cherry witch tried it on with an Otto today as i was glued to tank, he/she sent her packing very quickly, so funny to see her put in her place!!!
I now have 5 Cherry barbs, 4 Checkered barbs, 4 White Cloud Minnows and 3 Otos in the Asbo tank. They get on great, lovely to watch but i would never trust barbs with long fins!!!

well barbs are down the road a ways for us.. so many tanks to get between now and then.
