I currently have 30g tall, hexagon tank that I want to stock with 30 inches of fish, I already have an aerator(that says it is for tanks up to 30g) powering one strip of airstones at the very bottom(the strip of airstones is about 3/4 inch by 10 inch). Is this enough aeration? and if not how much do I need?


I also have a 100g tub with 6 goldfish and a pleco, and to aerate it I have a little pump that pumps the water above the surface, and makes the water into an umbrella shape. The diameter of the umbrella shape is maybe a foot and a half. Is this enough aeration for this tank?(remember that the air touches the water on top of the umbrella and underneath)

I would think that this would be enough in both cases. Particularly if you are using any sort of external filtration in the 30g tank, your fish should be fine.
