power cuts?

Due to the thunder storms we have had recently we have had powercuts. Luckily these have only lasted for a short while. In the past , they have been known to last for hours. What can I do to maintain the filter process in my freshwater tropical tank?

Re: power cuts?

There are battery operated air pumps available: http://www.petco.com/product_info.as...=Air+Pump&ct3=

Also, check out the following article. It may be a little extreme, but if it saves your fish...

Re: power cuts?

the easiest thing that you can do its remove a bit of water and pour it back in it adds oxygen to the aquarium and has circulation. also where i work at the lfs we have guidelines if the power goes out for extended periods of time by adding peroxide. i would suggest doing further research on that one
