Setting up my new tank Thursday!
I have a 20 gallon with a two inch Jack Dempsey, an Electric Blue Lobster named Fred, & three....no wait, I guess two baby Rbs now. I think Fred had lunch last night. He's quite the little fisherman. I have two adult convicts in a 29 gallon & I'm setting up either a 45 gallon or 55 gallon Thursday in my bedroom & moving the 20 gallon to the other side of the room.
I'll be receiving six two inch RB pirahnas & plan to put them in the new tank. I plan to take them to about four inches in size & then sell them to the local pet store. After that, I plan to use the new tank to house cichlids. I can make some pretty nice pocket change though by raising baby Red Bellies to a size large enough that they will be eating feeders. I'd rather use my 20 gallon for this. Anyone know how large I can raise ...say about six at a time in a 20 gallon. The pet store owner says he has a lady that buys baby RBs & then sells them back to him at three inches & he says she does this with just a 10 gallon.
I want to put either Dempseys or a pair of Red Devils in my new tank. I'll probably just end up ultimately with one large fish in there, but I could start out with multiples to start out with. I'm gonna use Bio Spira. Any Dempsey fans out there. What do you like about this fish?
