ruby/rainbow sharks

hello all
todays question is, was given two ruby sharks as a gift by my unthinking sister, after reading up on them it suggested they MAY be aggressive to each other and smaller fish was wondering what the read is, should i seperate them or will they grow to tolerate each other

Re: ruby/rainbow sharks

depends on the size of the tank, if you have them in a 50G plus tank, it shouldn't be a problem because they will establish a decent sized territory and be able to avoid each other, if kept in a smaller home, they will become aggresive towards each otherand one will become the dominant fish, especially when it comes to feeding, where the dominant one will protect it against the other. and yes they can be aggressive towards smaller fish, but i kept my red tail shark, which is similar to the rainbow, with my 2 cherry barbs which are maybe a generous 1.5 inches and he didn't bother them what so ever, even now, and hes about 4 inches long now, but he loves to pick on my platies, so i keep them separated
