Thank you to everyone for their reply to my problem, The testing kit I have is a pH kit, and I take a sample of water from the tank and put 5 drops of this blue stuff if the sample, wait for a ssecond or so to see if it has changed to a neutral colour (green) but it stays blue which on the pH test card show high alkaline.
