emergency please please help

the heater in my betta tank (held a male and female) just blew up, so i have transferred them to a tank which holds a dwarf gourami, cherry bards, bronze xatfish and a bristlenose, is there any problems with this assortment of fish, i have just brought a new 55 gallon tank which i am starting to cycle, but it wont be ready for a while, then i am going to transfer all the fish except the two bettas to there, are they all ok together for the mean time?

Re: emergency please please help

OMG! Please remove them or the gourami will kill them or they him. They should not be in the same tank, by the way either. If you can get a new bucket please just put them in there even without a heater they will be safer than with the other fish!!

They would even be okay in their old tank without the heater for a short time but not in with the other fish. NO HEAT is safer for them at this time. Please remove them.

Do you have these two divided from each other? If not you are very lucky that they have not killed each other and if the time comes when they try to spawn they will kill each other if they are not seperated. Males cannot be together, males and females cannot be together in an undivided tank, and females have recently shown themselves on this forum not to be compatible in the same tank undivided. We have had betta losses with the combininations of bettas together so please reconsider if they are being housed together.

I am sorry because I know this is not what you want to hear and it may cause you a problem but I do not want you to lose fish you care about.
