Holiday for a week. the contingency plans.

I have purchased a second hand 3000 va ups, and a second battery cabinet. I will be replacing the batteries in this so they run for the full duration.

Tank 1>
4ft tank. estimated 150 liters (will properly calculate one day).
will have two heaters. one inline, one in the tank.
Two pumps. one in the filter, one inline out the output side.
Lighting on a simple timer.

Tank 2>
juwel vision 180.
Second juwel heater installed in filter housing
lighting done on a timer. pump to be replaced before we go away. no second pump.

The ups will be wired to support both of these tanks. with 6000va on tap they should run for over a day on battery alone.

I will arrange a visit whislt on holiday.

feeding i have not looked into. But have seen food blocks that last for 7 days. Are these any good. they all look like chalk, and nasty!
or should i invest in two automatic feeders (getting expensve!)

i was going to do a 50>60% water change before i go away.

its only a one week holiday, but it will end up more like 8>9days in total.

I am an i.t. technician, so the ups i have delt with. the ups has been tested with the fish equipment and all runs fine. Ups will bypass if it faults so not cutting off the power if there is an issue with it.

Any thoughts? bulletproof?

Re: Holiday for a week. the contingency plans.

Sounds like a good plan. If there is time I would preform a test run with UPS new batteries or not. As you are an IT tech, UPS under load always seem to never last as long as they are rated for, if they have any age to them. If there is a test run be sure to personally be there to restore power. But You know all this. Fish do not require light to live which will decrease the load and extend the run time.
