black ghost knife fish

quick question,my girlfriend got a black ghost knife fish for her birthday,are they compatible with our community tank?

no because they will grow 18 inches and will eat community fish.

That's exactly right. They are cool fish but only fairly large fish can handle them.

ended up taking it back,figured it would be best for our community tank.

You could divide a tank into 2 with a tank divider if your tank is very large.

its a good size tank 55g, but a knife fish needs about a 100g or more when its full grown they get to over 20 inches.wish i could of done something like that though. that was the coolest fish ever,very fascinating to watch.

Yes they are fascinating fish, but Loaches.com was giving you the exact correct answers. They are really a great group.
Do watch your dojos though because they appreciate a little cooler temps than the others.

a 75 gallon might work for a BGK to be alone.
