Dorsal Fin

Ive been trying to determine the sex of all my fish but theres one problem,...I haven't got a clue how to do it :P

Can someone show me a pic possibly of the dorsal fin?
And any other techniques that can be used on any type of fish to find its sex?

Thanks

Re: Dorsal Fin

It depends on which fishes you want to sex. For livebearers you look at their anal fin and gonopodian fins and for most of the other fish, males are more slender while femlaes have thicker bodies.

Re: Dorsal Fin

Butterfly has had many plecos that have spawned recently and had hundreds that she has given away. I am sure she could help you also.

Re: Dorsal Fin

Platy males seem to have a longer fin at the bottom that includes the gonopodium. The females have one or two straight fins that just appear like straight fish fins with no additional elongation.
