Is it ready?

A few days ago I set up another 55gal tank. It was a used setup, and came with a canister filter and biowheel. I conditioned the water, rinsed the filters with tap water, added substrate, plants and even tossed in a single feeder goldfish. So I mean this tank looks clear. real clear. I tested the water, and here is what I got.
PH=7.0
Ammonia=0
NO2=virtually 0 , <0.25
NO3= 0
Temp 76 F

So it's only been a few days, I have got these reading for the last 2 days. Is this tank cycled?

Re: Is it ready?

No I'm sorry but it's not cycled. Takes several weeks for the beneficial bacteria to build up. Here are some great articles on cycling. http://www.fishlore.com/Forum/freshw...ginners.0.html

Re: Is it ready?

The only reason it looks perfect is because it hasn't even started cycling.

Re: Is it ready?

Yup, it probably didn't even begin to cycle yet, though it should start shortly

Re: Is it ready?

I would plan on at least six weeks, it is hard not to add fish but patience is a good friend.
