Re: Alright, here we go again!
Yep. Your tank is cycling. You could add 2 more danios, but that would be it until the tank is cycled. Do not let the ammonia or nitrite level get higher than 1. If it does, do at least a 50% water change until it gets below that. Your ph is fine. Don't change it. Just acclimate your new fish slowly to your tank by adding tablespoonfuls of tank water to the bag while it's floating to make sure the ph is adjusted and they are acclimated before adding the new fish to the tank. Add the tablespoonful of tank water about every 15 minutes for a couple of hours, and then when you add the fish, net them out of the water in the bag. Do not add the bagged water to the tank, just pour it out in the sink or outside.
I normally don't recommend you add fish to cycle a tank, but you already have a fish in there, and 3 danios are what I cycled my first tank which was a 20 gallon also. Ideally, you should try and get the store and cycle your tank by using pure ammonia instead. If you start a new tank, this is the way you should cycle it. You can also borrow some filter media from your cycled tank to help cycle the new one, or your can run an extra filter for a few weeks on your cycled tank, and then just move it over to the new tank when you are ready to add fish.
