Suggestions for my next purchase?

Hi,

I have a 36 gallon tank with the following:

5 Von Rio Flame tetras
5 Black skirt tetras
2 spotted corys (should I have gotten more?* I got 2 on advice of guy at LFS)
3 Rosy tetras

Based on what I know about how big each species could get, I think I have room for at least a few more fish.* I just got the corys today, so I'm not going to be out looking for another few weeks.*

But while I find my fish beautiful, I want more color!!* Any suggestions as to what I could get, and how many?* *I really like gouramis, but I'm assuming that's probably not a good idea with tetras.

I look forward to hearing everyone's ideas!!* Edited to add: I'm not married to having more tetras; I've just had good luck with them so far, except for neons. I had 9 neons for a few months, then suddenly every one of them died at once. All of the other fish were fine, and I haven't had any trouble since then.

Re: Suggestions for my next purchase?

I really love the Von Rio FlameTetras. I saw two different colors of Von Rio Tetras at the lfs the last time I was there.
You answered your own question about the Gouramis, they just wouldn't be a good mix. I would suggest you get one more Cory, three more Rosy Tetras.
Danios come in all colors and sizes and stay mainly at top water. they would add color and movement to your tank.
Step back and watch your tank, is there a specific level in your tank that isn't stocked? If there is then look for something that inhabits that level most of the time.

Yup I like butterfly's idea look for a level you would like more activity on. I like scissor tail rasboras especially if you have a blue background it really brings out there colors.

Cherry barbs are small, peaceful, and have beautiful orange (females) and red (males) coloration. The males become vivid red when adult and even more so when breeding. I am in love with cherry barbs and will get some for my next tank. They contrast well with green plants.
