Best Water Conditioner (In my Opinion)

I believe that Prime water conditioner isthe best water conditioner. What Prime does is remove chlorine, chloramines, and amminia, and detoxifies nitrites and nitrates. This product really helped when I was cyclying my 55 gallon tank. I cyclyed using four goldfish (big mistake,) and evrything was going smoothly until the nitrites began to rise. All of a sudden, three of the four goldfish died in two weeks, whichleft me with one. I decided to try Prime water conditioner, and it cycled my tank over night. And the best part is that If there is a severe case like mine was, you can use up to five times as much. Unfourtunatley, the water conditioner came in to late, and the goldfish died three days later. It is definetly the best conditioner I've ever used.

Re: Best Water Conditioner (In my Opinion)

I think the choice of a water conditioner/dechlorinator really depends on the type of tank you have. People with heavily planted tanks usually want a dechlorinator that only removes chlorine and nothing else, as plants need heavy metals from the water. Other people, with regular plants, often want conditioners that remove chlorine, chloramine, and the heavy metals. Here is a good review on water conditioners:

Re: Best Water Conditioner (In my Opinion)

I hate to disagree with you but what it sounds like is what you had was a false cycle. If you had just started to get Nitrites and the Prime cycled your tank overnight, it made a terribly quick move through the rest of the cycle. That is perhaps why the other fish did not make it. As far as i know the only product that gives that fast a cycle is Bio-Spira and it is not really a water conditioner. This is my opinion as I have never used Prime and I do agree with Isabella, everyone has different needs in their tanks. That is why there are so many different water conditioners out there. There are so many different types of tanks and someone has a need for each type that is made or they would not have been produced. I have heard good things about Prime and I am glad you are having good luck with it though.
