Re: Amazing site!!!
It's a useful website, however keep in mind that just because a tank is, say, 75 gallons in volume, does not necessarily mean you can have 75 inches of fish in it. This is because the MASS of a fish matters as well, and not only the length of a fish's body. For example, you could have 75 neons in a 75 gallon tank (supposing each neon is one inch in length) but you couldn't really have 15 angelfish (15 x 5" = 75") in that same tank. This is because 75 neons will not produce as much waste as only 15 angels will. Angelfish are much larger and much more massive than neons so you cannot keep angels in a given tank taking into account their body length alone - what about their body mass?
P.S. Spatially, maybe you could have 15 angels in a 75 gallon tank - but that tank would feel overcrowded and you'd HAVE to perform A LOT and LARGE water changes because angelfish are big crappers. Conversely, 75 neons in a 75 gallon tank ... while they would produce a lot of waste (because it is a large group of fish), that waste would be much smaller than that of 15 angelfish. And the more the wastes, the worse the water quality. And the worse the water quality, the more likely it is your fish may get sick. So you have to be very careful when choosing the size and the number of fish for a particular tank.
