this is the first aquarium i've had, we got five platies three days ago. everything seemed fine, they ate fine, swam around ust like normal fish but then they started dying. right now we only have two left. all they do is lie at the bottom of the tank like they're sleeping. i thought they died so i got the net to get them out but they started to swim again for a few seconds and then they became very still. if anyone has any advice it would be helpful. thanx in advance!

When did you get this tank? Are you familiar with the nitrogen cycle? Do you have a test kit? If so, what are your ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate readings?

This will help you understand why your fish may be dying.
