I came home tonight, and there is some weird stuff on my plant...looks like a spider web strand with tiny dots every so often. It just floats in the water, but it is attached to the plant, so it doesn't float away...could it be eggs? On a string? lol I have a pleco, so I've seen poop...and this isn't like any poop I've seen...But who is pregnant? If they are eggs, what do I do? I don't have another tank...augh!! can I still do water changes? how do you keep them from dying? augh!! this is NOT expected...maybe it's poop...it doesn't look like poop...oh no, I am not ready for babies!!!!!!!!

Doesn't sound like eggs.... Any chance of a picture? What color is it? Colud it be Algae?

Sound like snail eggs to me. That's what some of my snails do.

Really.. thats good to know Boxermom. the only snail eggs i've seen are in little jelly globs or look like berrys above water.
Hopesmom do you have snails in y6our tank?

sorry it took me so long to answer back...they are all gone now...I guess the pleco or other fish ate them. They were white, and the thread was too...I don't have any snails, although that would be neat. I wish I had a camera! I looked up my fish on FishProfiles.com and it says cherry barb "hang their eggs by a thread to the plants", so I guess they were the parents...but neither of them look or looked fat!? I didn't have the knowledge, or room in the tank! for more fish, but I'm still kinda sad. It would've been neat to see babies...or snails...whatever... you know? Hmmm... learn something new everyday. Sorry, I just assumed they were snail eggs, as I have snails in the tank where I've seen those. But I also have cherry barbs! I guess they were the culprits!
