whats the best way to seed a second tank. I put the filter on my 35g tank for about a week, then put it on the 10g. filled it with water, and then rinsed the carbon out of the 35g filter in the treated water in the 10g

is this enough, or what should else could i do? Im going to use this tank for breeding my blue rams

i understand theres no fish in there, so there will be no bio-load on the tank.

I could take my angelfish and put him in there on his own, but I dont want to do anything that would harm him..

any suggestions?

id keep the filter on the established tank at least two weeks..and leave it there until you are totally ready for it..you want to make sure you have enough in the tank to sustain the filter once its established...I wouldnt put any fish in there for at least a couple weeks after its been on the 35 gal ....goodluck!

thanks! hopefully my Rams dont decide to lay eggs for another week.

would it be better to put it in the same filter, then I could keep the water moving in the 10g, but thats not important haha

when I get ready to seed another tank, I just lay the filter pad or media in the tank and leave it for a few weeks....I dont even put it in the filter area as there usually isnt any extra room...it looks funny just layin inside the tank but hey, its a great conversation piece
