new tank

so i have this new 35 gallon tank that i got for my angelfish Angelo and i havent cycled it yet so i have a while to figure things out, but i was just wondering how many angels can i put in with him in that size tank? I was thinking of getting two or three angels more and some tetra or guppies, and maybe an oto or two. Any suggestions?

I don't know about your question but I sure would think you can put them in that tank. Good Luck

The problem with having multiple angels in a smaller tank is that once they mature, the are likely to pair off and try to spawn. Once that happens, the two that have formed the pair can become very protective of their eggs, and harass any others that get close. A 35g tank isn't exactly small, but in my opinion it's not large enough for an adult mating pair and others.

You might be able to get away with having 3-4 juveniles, if you're willing to keep only the first pair that forms and return the "extras" to the store. That's actually what I'm doing, only with a slightly larger pool of juveniles.

Two angels might also fight, so it's a tough call to make. Like most cichlids, some angels are passive and some are aggressive. If you only buy two, but wind up with two aggressive ones that are either of the same sex or just don't pair off for whatever reason, they'd likely harass each other frequently.

It might work, but it also might not.

you could have a pair..IF you have a back up plan..which means, if they pair up, or the agression gets severe where others are hurt or killed, you have a big enough tank to remove the agressors or the ones being picked on..your aquarium info has alot of fish in a 10 gal..including angelo...its way overstocked already and an angel in a 10 gal isnt good....so moving angelo to the 35 gal is great~~ ...

if you attempt to get him another friend, id get the 35 gal set up and cycled, with some plants, driftwood, and hiding spots...then id introduce the NEW angel (have it be the same size as angelo) and maybe an hour or so later, put in angelo...

the hardest part is going to be a back up plan if that doesnt work...your 10 gal is way overstocked now, and any angel in a 10 gal is only going to stunt its growth or stress it to death...

how about getting the 35 gal cycled, moving your danios, and angelo to the new tank and enjoy the life it brings to them in that larger tank without another angel?
