One and Only

I just set up a new 12 gallon tank which I plan on putting my betta and a school of cories in. I went to my LFS today to get the gravel and stuff and noticed that they no longer have BioSpira. They are now carrying Dr Tim's One and Only.

So does anyone have any experience with it? It's supposed to work just like BioSpira.

BTW, they do not have Tetra Safe Start either.

someone like you john with MTS infected in his blood, you mean to tell me you dont have extra filters or sponges running in your established tanks ? LOL

maybe your MTS isnt as bad as we thought

Ive read that the "one & only" is alot like cycle but I could be wrong..how bout just cutting off some filter media from another tank you have running? and use some deco and maybe hang some gravel in a stocking for a bit? that might save you a bit of money

When I saw the title "One and Only" I though about someone in full-blown denial about MTS.

Come on John, what's the rush?

Use seeded substrate/sponge... enjoy this fishless-cycle until next one comes in. Which school of corydoras? Pandas? Adolfoi?

I had been planning on using BioSpira again, so I didn't bother to seed an extra filter pad. I guess BioSpira will no longer be available since the Tetra transaction. According to Dr Tims website, One and Only is supposed to work just like BioSpira and Safe Start.

I guess I could cut off a piece of filter or put in some gravel, but then I have to find pure ammonia which seems to be a bit of a hassle, from what I've read here.

I have Panda's in my 36 and I've never seen Adolfoi's in my area. I'm thinking of getting some that I'm not sure of the name of. They are mostly black with a name like Seratae's or something like that. The LFS that has them, hand writes the names of the fish on a little card, and whoever wrote the name has even worse penmanship than me!

for MTS sickness, or even the slightest start of it, you must ALWAYS keep extra "stuff" hidden in your tank somewhere...one never knows when that "itch" occurs and one must "scratch" it

Just read the PetSmart flyer in the Sunday paper. I think I have hives.
