I think sliver sharks are to agessvise to the others. Clowns need to be in groups( I think) so you 'll need at least a 55.

you will need a 55 gallon (US) for these fish

silver sharks are not agressive and wont harm the other fish
but they grow very big Up to 13 inches (33 cm)

just check the bala shark profile

i know people with two loachs so you wont need to get a big group
but they do grow to 12 inches (30 cm) careful for ICH/ick

there may be problems as the sharks get bigger with the neons witch are small

Also when getting a tank for Angels, they appreciate a taller tank since they get pretty tall. I another post, someone wanted to put a Clown Loach in a 60 gallon tank, and a member who goes by the name of HachettHaven said that it was not big enough, but recommended Yoyo Loaches instead.

Clown loaches get 30cm (12"/1 foot) long, and quite chunky. Combine that with a need for friends and your looking at 100gal +. Silver (Bala) sharks are a very similar story.

Full grown angels will devour neons. There are lots of other nice tetras though!

I'd get a 29gal (About 100 litres) tank, 1 Angel, 6 2" tetras f the same type, and 6 male Guppys. For the tetras I recommend serpaes, black neons, Black phantoms, Emperors or Glowlights. Or, you could swap out either the tetras or guppys for 3 YoYo or Zebra loaches, but it would require more maintainence.

Oh, and BTW, the 29gal with a stand will be about £200, but a 55gal (210 litres approx) without stand is about £200, but there are not many things strong and big enough apart from a stand that can support a 55gal.

Oh, and DON'T forget the nitrogen cycle: http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm

If attic means the same thing in the U.K. as it means in the U.S., it probably isn't a good place to keep fish! Is this an insulated and climate controlled area?

If it was uninsulated, it would probably be OK if it had a top of the range heater.

What about summertime? Our attics get up around 5000 degrees, or so it feels.

Summertime doesn't actually exist anymore... It's more like the rainy season. Yesterday (5th sep) we got 2 weeks of rain in 1 day apparently!

Wow. Understood. We have two seasons - hot and hurricane. Hurricane runs from the end of April til the end of November. The rest of the time it's just warm and muggy.

I guess in your case a heater would be far more necessary than a chiller!

I spent almost my entire summer holidays indoors watching it rain. It was OK t the start (around June) but I think one of those electric heaters that are programmed to keep the water at a certain temp would work OK.

How come it doesn't matter? Don't forget Nano tanks - tiny tanks with tiny fish.

Just out of curiosity, how do you know your floor can't handle the load?

There is some calculation you do... I don't actually know what calculation (my granddad did the ones for my tanks - he used to be a civil engineer) is though.
