wild plants

would it be safe to use wild plants from a lake near where i live? i already use rocks and driftwood from there to no ill effect...

I hope you insanely boiled all of that many times before putting it in...
Not sure about the plants, but I'm thinking if they look alright and you do the proper cleaning/bleaching stuff... Really not sure though. Others will know probably.

Sure you can! Do a bleach dip, rinse well with dechlorinated water and your good to go

We harvested some plants from a lake near where Butterfly lives when we visited her and they are in with our dwarf neon green shrimp, and doing well.

The only problem is that some cold water plants cannot tolerate the temps in a tropical tank.

I had some and they literally melted in my tank.
