I live in Monmouth County, NJ and haven't been able to find it near me either. I did find Bio-Spira Marine and Dr. Tim's One and Only at Tropiquarium in Ocean. (http://tropiquarium.com/default.asp). I haven't tried Dr. Tim's though, maybe someone on this forum has.
If you are further north, this place in Clifton is supposed to be good: http://www.absolutelyfish.com/ I haven't called there since they are far from me, but you could try.

I don't know where in Jersey you live, but there is a place in Blackwood called the Aquairium Center that has BioSpira for Freshwater in stock (as of last week anyway).

Hi Dinatwin...

If you go to this link http://tetra-fish.com/sites/tetrafis...=1276&cid=3582

You can add your zip code and it will tell you retailers near you.

I just used Safe Start for the first time, and it worked exactly the same as Bio Spira for me ( which I swore by).

I hope this helps. Add your fish at the same time as the safe start.

I bought a big bottle, since it needs no refrigeration, and the measure to use in a smaller tank is 1.1oz per 10 gallons. I called the Tetra technician for this information. ( The 8.45 oz bottle treats up to 75 gallons and cost me $23.99 a the Pet Zone in Bemidji Minn.) Since I had to travel to get it, I didn't want to just get the little bottle with one use in it.

Good luck!!

Val

voiceless_cat. i did go to tetra and do the zip code thing it shows where to buy their products but none of them have or even heard of the safe start. I did go to a local fish store and they never heard of it either but he is going to check with his supplier today. He did mention Dr. tims but i was leary to buy it since I never heard of anyone here using it.

Thanks again everyone for your help

xcaliburgirl I just looked up the link you gave me and I could try there. It may take me 40 minutes to get there but it's worth a shot.
Thanks a bunch!

Just a note if you go, BioSpira Marine is not for freshwater tanks it is for Saltwater(BioSpira Freshwater is for freshwater of course). So you would need the Dr Tim's One and Only if they don't have BioSpira for Freshwater (assuming the Dr Tim's is for freshwater).
