Cycled!

Tetra safestart worked the second time around. Today i am fully cycled and have some questions. I plan on stocking my tank with around 6 hatchetfish, a dwarf gourami and either a singular fancy pleco or a school on around 4-5 cories. I am wondering if the hatchetfish will get along witht the gourami or vise versa. Its a 30 gallon tank

Yes, but as long as you have some sort of specific floating food for the hatchets so that they dont have to fight for their food with the piggy gourami. Just watch out during feeding time

dont underestimate her use of the word "piggy". my gourami embodies the word so much i actually named him Mr Piggy.

They definitely are pigs lol, I have to tap the tank just to let a few pieces of food get to the bottom for my corys before my gourami eats them, even though he still has plenty still floating at the top he thinks he has to eat every speck of food there is

Compared to my Boseman's Rainbows, my Dwarf Gourami's are on a hunger strike. Those Rainbows have splashed my many times darting up for food.

My poor little gourami is terrified, lol. i got him earlier and he has spent all day with his fins expanded slowly exploring my tank. The light seemed to scare the ever loving bejesus out of him so i turned it off for now. hopefully he adjusts

hopefully he does because he is literally scared of his own shadow at the moment and is gilling incredibly fast

Mine did that for a while too... try feeding him some frozen brine shrimp, that seemed to calm mine down and he wouldnt touch the flakes for a few days anyway

yeah took mine the better part of a week to calm down. even once they do calm down they still are easilly spooked. if i jump up and walk past my tank too quickly mr piggy goes balistic. seems quick jerky movement or actions can spook em even after they settle in. they are worth it though.....awesome personalities and colors.
