Water Softner Question

I have a Kinetico water softener that used bags of salt to soften the household water. Is it safe to use this water for my tanks or is it best to refill the tanks from the kitchen tap?

I have been using a Python to fill the tanks from another tap and then got to thinking about the soft water. What are your suggestions?

Use the tapwater, the softened water by itself will not have enough buffers to make your pH stable

Does that rule out using the python? I would not be able to have the water at 76 degrees without heating it somehow since the hot water at the kitchen tap is softened.

You can mix the water 50% soft and 50% regular tapwater to get enough buffers and to make the water warm, I would get a water hardness and ph test and check your levels on those though to make sure you have enough buffers in the water

Thanks for the response. Pure cold water out of the tap has a GH of 18. Water out of the tap at 76 degrees has a GH of 15. Water out of softened taps is at about a 3 GH. It looks like I can use the kitchen tap to fill with the python. Thanks for the help
