PH and algae

Would a low pH cause an algae bloom? And how do I get rid of both, the bloom and fix the ph?

No, ph has nothing to do with algae growing in your tank... its caused by too much light, the wrong type of light, and excess waste or nutrients in your water from either overfeeding or not enough water changes

Regular water changes will also keep your ph stable, it drops over time due to mineral loss... really a low ph isnt bad for anything unless you have saltwater or maybe african cichlids... if you want to make it more stable you could use large rocks that leach minerals into the water, but thats only if you have EXTREMELY low ph and hardness, in most cases you dont even have to do anything though except good 20 -25% weekly water changes

pH u can't get rid, but algae just get a bristle nose pleco, or scrape it off. to lower pH oakleafs and/or driftwood works, to raise it Baking soda should do the trick. 1tsp per every 10gals.

I don't have algae growing on the class, just green murky water. My numbers are great and it is not by a window. The only problem is a low ph. I made the mistake of changing 90% of the water and the filter at the same time and it has been downhill ever since. I am at a loss and I almost want to recycle my tank and start from scratch!
