They sell these at my LFS. Have them in tanks with Oscars. They should be in a tank of 90 gal. minimum. How many gallons is your tank?

Yeah, crayfish will attack anything that they can reach. It may not be a good idea to have one in your community tank.

You'd put a living thing in freezing water as punishment?
Please read care sheets on the inhabitants of your tank and do right by them. It's not their fault they were all put in the same tank.
When we choose to have a pet, it's our responsiblity to find out the proper way to care for them.

Crayfish can get to be a pretty good size. I would say that a 20 gal. would be a god size for an adult crayfish. Possibly a 10, but I've seen bigger crayfish that probably wouldn't be too happy in a 10 gal. They also need a filter & heater.

I think it best that if you want a crayfish/crab tank - it be seperate from your community tank. They will attack your other fish & injure them. A 20 gal. tank would be a nice crayfish/crab tank. Crayfish do get a little bigger than most freshwater crabs (which reach about 2 in.), so I'm not sure if aggression needs to be taken into account. Also crayfish usually eat fish, from my recent research, people feed them feeder fish. So crayfish+community tank = dangerous mix.

dangerous mix is my crayfish's name lol..... it is not my fault that i want to have a complite ecosystem going in my tank!!! fish encounter crabs crabs encounter fish,,, part of the whole deal,, my crayfish loves fish, he never attacks,he walks and takes dive from the rocks at all times i think he is vegeterian but the fish bother him and he snap the other day, the most agressive there is the stupid orange fish i think is a molly or a female sord fish,, i dk but it keeps on neepin the bala sharks

First off - he's not a vegetarian. Second - in the wild, the fish can escape - they can't go far in a fish tank. A complete ecosystem doesn't have to include a crayfish. Obviously the crayfish does attack fish, as it killed your bullshark. Your crayfish will try to attack the fish in your tank, and you will have more injured/dead fish. It's just their nature.
