cuckoo catfish skimming the surface for food

Im wondering if hes not getting enough food on the bottom... he now races to the surface at feeding time and skims upside down with his mouth open charging at food like he hasnt been fed in a week.

i have an angelicus synodontis which is very closely related its just balck with white spots, when i do the evening feed i put some flakes in and put the light out and he does exactly the same

oh good!! thankyou, he never did it in his old tank, so I didnt know what was going on.
