| I take no credit for this one at all, other than telling him he's more than welcome to have a tank of his own...but he needs to learn to take care of it. He studied, he sat in front of this machine and took notes on paper. He made graphs so he could understand the nitrogen cycle better (I'm ashamed to say how many times I read the information and still didn't understand it 'til it finally clicked). Watching him explain everything to this employee was such a joyous moment I could almost forget how amusing it was to see this womans face as she was blinking her eyes with her mouth open wide as if she were suprised...but it was still pretty funny. My only regret is I could not talk him into buying his fish elsewhere. He said, "Momma, if I don't get them here, they're gonna die." Well, I couldn't very well argue with that logic...and at least they have a 14 day guarantee (with good reason). |

You come across a lot older to me I guess, very mature for your age. Congratulations on being such a responsible person. |

Having your 11 yr old explain the nitrogen cycle and humane fish keeping to a PetSmart employee.... priceless | That should be the next commercial!!
Kudos to you for helping him learn all of that most important information, and kudos to him for being one smart kid. I'll bet that Deathco employee was totally floored!
Awesome that you finally have your fish, now it's time to get to work!
Gosh Hatchet, I thought you were at least 16-20 from the posts you make. We've got some very mature young fish keepers here on FL it seems. |

You should be very proud of him and you should take the credit of having brought him up to be so.
I wish him the best of luck with his fish hobby... he sounds like he really enjoys it. good for him! |

| Hahahahahahahaha hahahahahaha hahahahaha , That is truly funny. Its not like most people would be really rude to a child who cared like they would to most grownups as well so she may not have listened to an older person liked she did to your 11yr old. Congrats on raising such a great caring intelligent kid!
Wow Hatchet, you really do come across as older. Its great to know that the next generation has such caring representatives. |

You've obviously done your own hard work and studying. I hope you are very proud of yourself, 'cause you should be. I wouldn't had a clue you were 12! |

I never really thought about it buut I do sound at least 16 sometimes... Yeah I love the face you get from someone when you ask for '1 male apistogramma nijsseni, 2 pots of anubias bartei var. 'Nana', 1 bunch of Cabomba carolina , and a female xiphophorus helferii'! It's so funny.... And you get loads of freebies.
I don't think I'm very mature at all really. I just know a few things like that but otherwise I act like a 2 year old most of the time.
Ben... I think anything under 18 is young so you must be classed as a young fishkeeper. Here's a tip mate: Next time you go to buy fish/plants, ask for them in latin. It really helps! Or, master the ID of a certain plant you want to buy and buy an unlabelled bunch. I got a free bunch of the stuff when I tried! |
