I started a 5 day treatment of Maracyn-Two today for popeye. Should I add the carbon to the filter now, when the meds are done, or not at all?

When you finish the treatment do a large(at least 50% water change) then if you want you can add the carbon for a few days. water changes will take the meds out just as well and will feel good to the sick fishie Did he respond to the treatment?

I just put the first dose in a little while ago, so no reponse yet, of course. Can I do small water changes in the meantime? I'm trying to keep the nitrate down, as I think the nitrate got out of control and that's what caused the problem in the first place. I also bought a live plant today, so hopefully that will help.

Check the instructions for water change information to be sure but I don't think you do water changes until after the treatment.

Run carbon for a few hours after the meds treatment is done.

I've used the Maracyn Two for 4 days now, and the poor little guy doesn't really look any better. I'm going to use it one more day, but is there anything else I can try?
