Brown splotches?
I just noticed small brownish spots or splotches on the inside surfaces of my tank. Is that algae? Is there anything I can/should do about it?

It sounds like diatoms. It looks like brown algae but is just something that forms in a new tank. Just wipe it off and it will eventually go away but is a pain in the neck. I would love to know what others have added to their filters to get rid of it. Any suggestions?
