Something went wrong

Belle was listing yesturday afternoon. The water quality was good but I did a partal water change, although I had just done 1 the day before. Yesturday evening she was quite lethergic. Added a bit of garlic and vita-chem, 'cause I thought it would help. This morning she was laying on the cave...I thought she was gone then, but when I went to move her she made some pitiful attempt to swim, and I didn't have the heart to take her. Dummy me didn't have a Q/T for emergency. She was gone when we came home from church, and I've been looking for a rock to crawl under all day.

MrsM3197: Truly sorry for your loss. It's the sad part of fishkeeping, but you did your best for Belle and all the crowd. In her memory, bring another female Koi Angel for William, hopefully he will accept her.

Go through the grieving, it's ok to be sad, just don't blame yourself (I'm a Clinical Psychologist, and I have a big window at office, one of the main uses of this window is to throw away guilt, so find a window and throw yours away). I let a couple -well maybe more than two, actually- of tears out when "Huascar", an elderly 4"+ Apple Snail, passed away. I keep his empty shell, will use it to decor a tank, when it's time.
