adding stuff to a tank

i have a 29 gallon tank with 15 different kinds of fish in there,and i was wondering if i could take rocks and drift wood from the fresh water stream and add it to my tank,i heard its possible if i boil them first,any suggestions,,don't want to do it till i get confirmation

Take the rocks and put some vinegar on them. If they do not fizz then you can boil them and let them cool in the water - do not cool them in the air or in cool water or they could explode. Then they should be okay for the tank. If the rock fizzes when the vinegar hits it then you cannot use it in the tank. The driftwood is another story. I don't want to comment on it. We will see if we can get comments from someone who has used driftwood this way, okay?
