Tanks.. Tanks alot!!

Hi Everyone,
I just got tank #2 ( 29 Gallons). Here's my question... Tank #1 has a bit of an algea problem, and I am worried that if I " seed" tank #2 with goop from tank #1, I'll not only carry over all the good stuff, but I'll also be putting unwanted algea into my nice shiny new tank. I was just going to take my time and cycle tank #2 without any help from evil algea tank. Any thoughts?

( I've been gone for about a month, so it has been great to read all the new post.. keep up the good work evryone!!)

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Tanks.. Tanks alot!!

It's so good to see you!! Glad to see your ok after all those bad storms you have been having your way.
Generally Algae is caused from an over abundance of nutrients. Sometimes less feeding and more water changes for a short while will help that problem.
You could certainly cycle your tank doing fishless cycling (see the articles in the beginners forum) I think you could even jump start your cycle by using some of the non-algaed stuff from th other tank. Your choice.
