Very Mean Fish!

Ok so Mamma Carrie has always been a pretty mean gal. But these past few days she has crossed the line! She bit off Marry Lands top fin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then she damaged the bottom ones!!!!!!!! I took her out of the AS SOON AS I SAW HER DO IT! And she messed with Patty to! And that just makes me soooo mad! SO I put her in a smaller separate tank! ALONE. I don't know what I should do! Because I don't think she's smart enough to learn THAT YOU DON"T HURT OTHER FISH! Marry Land isn't moving much any more, Patty is a trooper, but Patrick was even bit at a little. Just please help, what should I do with Mamma Carrie? I will get pictures ASAP!

I had the same thing happen to one of my mollies. I thought it was the betta in the tank but it turned out to be the red glass rosy barb. Seems that he's fine around the other fish, at least until he gets hungry.

I was adding Melafix to the tank and it seemed to help with the healing process. Definately couldn't hurt to try it.

melafix is really bad for bettas, it has an ingredient that damages their laberynth* organ and can eventually kill them.

if you look under the "betta" sub-catagorie, theres a thread about it.
lots of people have lost their bettas from using melafix or pimafix.

Is melafix bad for black mollies and tetras? But something els happened. We wanted to give Mamma Carrie one LAST chance. So we put her back in the tank, and she started to bite everyone and chase Patty around AGAIN. And patty can't be chased, it is possible that she can not give birth, and shes over 20 days due. So I got the net, and I couldn't ketch her, so my mom chased her around, she saw the wrong fish and trapped Marry Land in a corner, and I told her it was the wrong one, so when she was letting her go, Marry Lands right fin, and gill got caught on the net, we heard somethings crack and saw Marry lands float up to the top on her belly. Then she flipped around and started to swim away crooked. So now I just want to kill the out of Mamma Carrie, she's messed with everyone of those fish. I just don't know what to do about Marry Land. Will she be okay if her fin is broken? Or damaged a gill?

ARGH!!!

Guess I'm lucky that I pulled the betta out once I noticed the injured molly. Betta never got any Melafix.

Thanks for the heads up!!!

No problem.
Loads of people have lost their Bettas from using Melafix and Pimafix.

Even BettaFix isn't good for Bettas.
It has the same ingredient as Melafix, only smaller doseage.
