some q's

i do my water changes once aweek, 5 gal on 10gal, and 15 gal on 55

when should i feed my fish ive been doing it twice a day

how about blood worms, and fresh fruits/veggies?

how long should i leave my tanks lights on?

i want to buy a backround for my 55, should i also do the sides to?

does anyone know about underwater lights?

what other kinds of fish could i add? i was thinking ghost shrimp, just a couple of them?
any other good bottom feeder?

Hi A&J ..I also feed my fish twice a day...so as long as u arent overloading it each time, that should be good...bloodworms are great protein..and the fish love them...some ppl feed them exclusively depending on the type of fish you have...if you have plants in the tank, they each differ for the amt of lite you need...I dont have live plants but I do leave my tank lites on 8-10 hours a day...unless im not home....if you do the sides of your tank, you will only be able to look into it from the front..never on the sides..so if you prefer that, I think its one's own opinion...im not sure about adding anything, your 10 gallon with the goldfish wont be enough room for them eventually...goodluck and get some pics if you can..would love to see it!

Your pleco will love fresh fruit + veggies. Lettuce leaves , cucumber and even banana to name just a few. Just remember to remove uneaten food from the tank ( dont let it rot ). Bloodworms will also be accepted by your fish.
The background is really your choice , but many are double sided so you will end up seeing the reverse side on the ends of the tank .
Most people try to have a day and a night time in their tanks to replicate the sun . Fish get to rest at night and come out during the day or vice versa . Many people work during the day and only get to see their fish at night , so they extend this period with lights. You dont mention plants so you could get away with turning it on only when you want to look at your fish at night.
Without knowing what type of pleco you have ( looks like a Brislte Nose but hard to tell ) its hard to say what you could add. Some of them get really big . Just do a bit of research on the site and you should be able to work out what fish and how many will work well in your tank .
Hope this helps.

some fish like to play in bubbles but the main reason is that bubbles create more suface area by disterbing the surface making more oxygen work its way into the water which helps a fish breath better.
